January 7, 2016 - Day 3 - Sea Day

The port lecturer, Barbara, gave a presentation on Puerto Limon and Panama City after breakfast. She offers the practical aspects of visiting the ports on your own. What currency is accepted. Where can you get local tours, including Hop On Hop Off buses. What precautions should you take. In South America Frank Buckingham did this. Barbara seems just as good.

I went to the talk on volcanos, while Alice went to the digital workshop. After lunch I attended Pirates 2, and Alice did another computer class. After another nap, we dressed for Gala Night (formal night). The captain hosted another welcome cocktail party at which he introduced the ship's officers and key staff. We exited to the dining room where the food was great, and the company was greater. We cannot believe how hard we laugh. Diane wants us to call Bonnie to find out what it would cost to stay with them for the whole cruise. I will do it, but to make the change now would be logistically challenging.

After dinner Alice and I "crashed" the captains cocktail party for the late seating. Then it was time for the entertainment. The Finkels opened with two brothers, a pianist and a xylophonist. Then their 95 year old dad joined them. He told stories and sang from Fiddler on The Roof. These guys were great. We went to our room to change and returned for their late show.
The Finkels

Bedtime was welcome.
