This was always planned
as a shopping day. We made the best of it. We did a thorough job of exploring
Victoria Wharf and Water Shed. We decided the hair salon was expensive and
skipped a hair cut for Alice. Mine is still so short that I do not think I will
need a cut before we get home. Our shopping focused on local arts and fabrics. We
were well satisfied. I think the merchants were also.
Of course we also
stopped at a bookstore. There we found a beautifully photographed book, 7 Days
in Cape Town. This sets out daily itineraries for seven days. The maps and
photos cover various neighborhoods in the city and day trips to surrounding
sights.
Our last stop on the way
back to the shuttle was a luggage shop. We have acquired some “stuff” to take
home. This necessitates another suitcase, since ours were full and at the
weight limit for our trip to Sydney. We are the proud owners of a robin egg
blue mid-sized suitcase. This is our first piece with 4 wheels. I already love
it.
Sail away was impressive
and very pretty. We have many fond memories of Cape Town, and we have added it
to the top of our list of places to which we must return. That places it even higher
than Venice.
Ah, the stuff that dreams are made of!
