February 15, 2018 - Still Stormy

Thursday, February 15, 2018
We are indeed moving faster. Our speed is now up to 16 knots. The windspeed is now down to 50 miles per hour with higher gusts. We are, once again, bouncing around.

The third astronomy presentation was this morning. Dare I say it was even better than the other two. I think we have a trend here. Alan holds a chat in the piano lounge after his talk. My only regret is that I cannot attend because it conflicts with the Test Kitchen events.

Today in the test kitchen Abbey presented two salmon recipes, and showed us how to prep and handle the salmon. She explained that there is no stigma in using farm-raised salmon. Also, if only frozen or previously frozen and thawed salmon are available, the frozen salmon is the better choice. Of course fresh caught salmon is preferable, if available.

At noon the captain said we would arrive at Kangaroo Island at noon tomorrow. This will be four hours later than scheduled. The shore excursion folks must be going nuts. It will be especially hard on them because our satellite link has been spotty at best. That makes communication with shoreside providers difficult. That is also why these blog updates have not been uploaded.

We look forward to dining with Sandy and Roger from The Villages tonight. We know them from a previous South America voyageand the World Cruise in 2016. We are looking forward to catching up.
