March 13, 2019 - Sea Day - Wednesday , Day 66

March 13, 2019 - Sea Day - Wednesday , Day 66

Wow! Here it is 8:45 PM on the 13th, a sea day, and I am composing this post. I cannot believe I am caught up. This is a first time ever in all of our cruising. I don’t know how long this will last, but I am enjoying it.

My day started at 5:00 with a 2 mile walk. I did not encounter another walker the whole time. The passenger mix on this cruise is very different from our first 3 cruises. I did meet 2 security guards who were relaxing at the stern before their shift started. After a couple of slow laps to slow down, I went up to deck 13 forward. This is above the Crows Nest in the bow, and it is open on all sides. I have discovered that this is the ideal place to start to dry out in the breeze after my walk.
That is unless we are cruising into a 20 knot headwind. Today was fine with just a 5 knot cross wind.

While up there I watched the sunrise.

At 6:50 I was back in the cabin. We were showered and dressed by 7:50 and went to church. Breakfast was leisurely. It was good that our first event was not until 10:00 because the kitchen was really slow. The dining room was full. This is another difference. Fewer passengers are going to the Lido for breakfast on this segment.

We had lectures on upcoming ports at 10:00 and 11:00. Then it was a quick lunch in the Lido for us. I attended the cooking demo at 1:00 while Alice started working on her pictures.

At 1:45 I was back to join Alice in our cabin. My writing and picture selection went smoothly. Uploading the blog has been very efficient on this whole voyage. I was very unhappy with the cost of internet in the beginning, but I have come to enjoy being able to get online whenever I want to. Depending on where we are sailing the upload speed may suffer some, but I do not have to worry about how long I am connected as I did under the old system when you bought minutes not days. I wish Holland would offer a better loyalty discount based on the number of days cruised. I will express that when I write my review at the end of the voyage.

Dinner was great, as usual. We skipped the entertainment. We had seen this comedian on an earlier segment. Funny the first time, but not so the second time.

Now I am going to post this. Then I might do some surfing.

Cheers!

Drying Out to Today's Sunrise
