March 6, 2019 - Sea Day- Wednesday, Day 59

March 6, 2019 - Sea Day- Wednesday, Day 59

This is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. We started the day with the ecumenical distribution of ashes. After the service The other denominations adjourned to Bible study while we catholics stayed for Mass.

After Mass we bid Father/Monsignor Brian a fond farewell. We have spent 60 days with him. He will return to Fremantle tomorrow. We will carry on to Brisbane.

As the day progressed we bid farewell to many others we have met . We also had to say goodbye to several waiters we had come to know. Company policy requires that they leave after 9 months. Many contracts are expiring here. We will miss them.

The lecture schedule was light. This allowed us to work on organizing photos. Others packed for disembarkation tomorrow.

We we’re surprised when we returned to our cabin after dinner to see luggage already out in the hallway for pick up.

In our room we planned for tomorrow. It will be our third stop and fourth day in Singapore. We will use the subway to get to the city center. From there we will walk to many  sights that we could not visit in the past.
