March 4, 2019 - Sea Day - Monday, Day 57
This morning we attended Ask the Captain in the showroom. He did a short presentation that included videos he had taken of a recent docking and a recent departure. These include a view down the side of the ship, a view forward and a shot of the electronic potter with our ship’s position. These are very well done and will be shared with other Holland America ships for training purposes. We are the first HA vessels to visit many of these ports. Our experience is very useful.
Then the questions began. They were general in nature. None were antagonistic. Captain Arno fielded them in good humor.
A special Seafood Lunch in the dining room followed this presentation.
Alice and I spent some time working in the room before we left for the fitness center. Clara, the fitness guru, introduced us to a strength training program for geezers. My term, not hers. She wants to be sure that we master the technique and do not hurt ourselves. She seems to have been successful.
A Gala Night Dinner followed at 5:30. This was the last Gala Night for this cruise and dinner featured steak and lobster. After dinner we returned to our stateroom. The entertainment was a Planet Film accompanied by the Maasdam Orchestra. We saw it on an earlier portion of our cruise so we opted to skip it.
Surprisingly, this was one of our more relaxed sea days.
