After a good night’s sleep we got up at 6:30. We had arrived at Mykonos. Two other cruise ships had also arrived here.
We had an excellent breakfast in Windows, the self service restaurant. At 8:15 we were in the cabaret show lounge for our 8:30 tour departure. We had chosen a tour that would take us away from the commercial are of Mykonos. It did exactly that. After a walk from the tender pier to the coach parking lot our guide took us on a tour of the island. He explained that the main road is like the spine with other roads branching off from it. He narrated the history of the island.
We had photo stops, a visit to a monastery, and a snack stop. All of this was very nice including the ouzo at the snack stop. We were given free time to shop at the tour’s end and directed to the tender departure point. Alice and I had shopped enough here the last time in August. We walked to the tender stop.
We took this tour to use some of the shipboard credits we have from our aborted cruise in 2020 due to Covid. We are really glad we did this. There is a lot more to Mykonos than the windmills and shopping. It is really very charming.
Upon returning to Journey we had a light lunch in windows with the included wine. Then Maricris delivered the Dewars to our cabin. Alice had just asked me how long it might take for the Dewars to arrive when it arrived. At some point I will have to ask Maricris for ice.
Right now Alice is napping until I wake her at 6. I have been sitting in the Living Room working on this blog while listening to the trivia contests going on around me. Since it is now 5:2, I am sipping on an included Manhattan.
All that remains for the day is dinner followed by the singers and dancers production show. When Journey departs Mykonos at 11:00 we plan to be sound asleep.
This has been a wonderful day.
